Anti Aging Skin Care – Facts Not Disclosed by Cosmetic Companies

There has been a breakthrough in anti aging skin care, although you may not be aware of it. A new ingredient for anti aging skin cream has become available to manufacturers all over the world. The question is whether or not they want to make use of it.
Most anti aging skin care comes from cosmetic companies. Most cosmetic companies prefer to use inexpensive ingredients, charge a high price for them, spend lots of money on advertising and promoting them and then, of course, pocket the profits.
They are always coming up with something that is “new and improved”, but if you compare the ingredients on the label, you will see very little, if any difference. You see things like “now with vitamin E” on an anti aging skin cream label. But when you look at the ingredients, vitamin E is far down on the list, way behind the petrolatum, which is the most common ingredient.
There is nothing particularly wrong with petrolatum. Except that it clogs the pores and strips the skins own sebum content. The glands may try to produce more, as a result, so you may end up with extra oiliness, for a while. But, eventually, with continued use, you end up with excessive dryness. But, that’s supposed to be alright, because you can just use more of that company’s anti aging skin care products.
They tell you that your skin is getting drier because you are getting older. So, you need more of their anti aging skin cream to correct the problem. All of that is hype.
But, the breakthrough in anti aging skin care is a material called Functional Keratin(TM). It is actually a family of breakthrough materials that are closer in form to native keratins than any biomaterial currently available.
You see, the cells in the epidermis, the skin’s outermost layer, contain a structural matrix of keratin. Along with collagen and elastin, the keratin matrix gives the skin strength.
Normally, keratin proteins are non-water soluble, so they could not be used in an anti aging skin cream. But, over the years, companies have used harsh processes to denature the keratin found in animal hooves and other parts, in order to make lotions and creams out of them.
Those processes destroy the functionality of the proteins, making them useless to the skin’s cells. Functional Keratin(TM) is extracted from wool and through a portfolio of patented processes the company creates a soluble protein that is readily available for use by the skin’s cells. It is also readily available for use as an ingredient in anti aging skin care products, but as mentioned above, most cosmetic companies won’t go for it.
Functional Keratin(TM) has high sulfur content and a good balance of amino acids including cysteine, phenylalanine, glutamine and lysine. The natural amino acid structure is left intact by the companies technologically advanced processes. There is much clinical research supporting its effectiveness when included in anti aging skin cream.
It is also a good thing to use for the hands, neck and body. Research has shown that it protects against detergent-induced dermatitis and other conditions caused by exposure to the elements or abrasives. It may take some time to find anti aging skin care that contains it, but it is worth the effort.
